Currently, we are looking for a Veeam Backup for Databases Engineer.
Your tasks will include:
- Provide technical support for backup and recovery operations across Oracle (RMAN), SAP HANA, SAP on Oracle, and SQL Server environments
- Assist customers with configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of Veeam Plug-ins for RMAN, SAP HANA, and SQL Server
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to backup failures, restore operations, and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to escalate and resolve complex cases
- Maintain accurate case documentation and contribute to the knowledge base
- Participate in customer calls and remote sessions to ensure timely resolution and satisfaction
What we expect from you:
- Strong understanding of database engines such as Oracle, SAP HANA, DB2, and SQL Server
- Proven experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies
- Practical expertise with SAP HANA and SAP on Oracle tools such as BR*Tools or BACKINT
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server backup and restore operations
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration
- Familiarity with Veeam Backup & Replication, including plug-in deployment and repository management
- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot technical issues
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals and firewall configurations
- Basic knowledge of shell scripting or bash for automation
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Will be an advantage:
- Experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery
- Knowledge of SAP on Oracle environments
- Experience with SAP HANA replication or scale-out cluster configurations
- Certifications such as Oracle OCA/OCP, AWS, Azure, GCP, or LPIC
- Advanced hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication in enterprise environments

Please note: This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance three days a week: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Remote work will be available on Thursdays and Fridays. The position is based in San Jose, Costa Rica.
